poledit.exe and allowed windows applications!

Thanks in advance for all of your inputs!!!
Does any know how to add an 'allowed windows application' to the 'list of allowed windows applications' in poledit.exe, under local user/windows 98 systems/restrictions! Once again, Thank you for your recommendations!!!!

Also under Windows one has possibilities of limiting rights of the individual users. For this one finds on the Win95-CD the program POLEDIT (\admin\apptools\poledit). If you install the program, start it afterwards and select - > "file " - > "registration open " - > "local user "


Under "Shell " and "System " now extensive restrictions of access can be assigned


With Poledit also future processing of the Registry with Regedit and Poledit can be locked. If this should you occur by mistake, or would like this restriction remove, you must replace either the Registry by a backup copy (for this that is utility ERU on the Win95-CD von Nutzen), or you start Win95 once in "the secured mode " In "the secured mode " the registration and thus is also the adjustment made with Poledit is not processed ineffective: They can take it back now. Start Windows afterwards in "the standard mode " again

If your Windows should not the boat menu display and in "the secured mode " to be started not be able, open the CONFIG.sys and remove there the entry " SWITCHES=/n "


If you should make restrictions for other computers in the network with Poledit, their stored adjustments (POL files) must be in the directory of POLICIES. They are not found otherwise!

Thanks for the tips, and the thing is that i would like to specified what piece of software or windows application a particular user can use and i don't know how to edit the list of the 'allowed windows applications'. i think it requires a particular syntax or something of that sort for it to recognize. i try entering the path of the software that i want to allow but that doesn't work. i also try putting it in quotes but to no avail! this is what i did, i opened poledit.exe, then i opened the registry file (not the policy file), and go to the key LOCAL_USER/WINDOWS_98_SYSTEM/RESTRICTIONS, in there i clicked on "Only run Windows allowed applications" then i clicke on "Show" to show the list of allowed applications. this list is empty on my machine so i like to add to it but don't know the right syntax! so if you know how please let me know!!! Thanks again!!!!
