I need to know if it is possible to transfere files from an old MAC Plus Harddisk to a floppy disk format in Dos? It does not have a SuperDrive like the MAC SE.

Welcome, Kitty4! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Is the Mac still operational? If yes, and you can get on the net with it, you could upload or email them to yourself. If not, there is for sure commercial software that allow a PC to read Mac-formatted diskettes, and maybe also shareware/freeware programs. If all you have is the hard drive, and no working Mac, you may be out of luck. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

ADDED: Does Mac-in-DOS ring a bell with anyone?

Hi Kitty4,
I'm pretty much a newbie on this site, and have been fascinated (ok, maybe just impressed) with the folks who give advice on it. You'll surely get a lot of good info. Be patient. If you have a friend who has an operational Mac and he/she has Claris Works the job is done, I think. Claris Works can save just about any file as a PC file. Most Macs can even format a disk for a PC. PCs don't do the opposite. Sorry!

There are a couple free downloadable programs (that I know of)that you can put on a PC that will open a Mac file. They are MacOpener 2000 at http://www.dataviz.com/downloads/index.html
and there is another that I used some time back called Here and Now. Both products will give you a few days to use them before they send the Cyber police after you, or whatever. I think the MacOpener is a demonstration copy that is good for 5 days and then...I don't know what. I used it today to open an email with some MS Word documents attached to it, sent by a friend with a Mac.
Hope this is helpful.
