connecting to internet

Hi everyone,

My problem is evrytime i want to connect to the internet i get a message asking me to work offline, i used to get a connection box come up after clicking on the i.e.icon and i just clicked on the connect tab and away i'd go, this has for some reason disapeared and now i have to open up outlook express in order to log on,then switch over to i.e. it's getting very frustrating as i can't find out what is going wrong, (i've checked under the file tab that the work offline option is unchecked so i know it's not that) any ideas anyone?

Go to the "Help" section of Win and look up "Dial Up Networking"...you need to set the modem up to dial your Internet Provider it sounds like to me...you must have originally had it set up to "automatic dial" when you double clicked the browser icon and that information has been deleted or removed......it needs to be put back in to "Log On".

In IE, at the top of your browser, click 'Tools', then 'Internet Options', Connection TAB. check "always dial my default connection. This will give you back the 'box', and you can then choose to connect automatically, or not as well. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
