http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif How do I change the registered name of an application? Ex: When my Excel97 comes up, it shows the name of the previous owner. Can I change it to mine? If so, how????? I assume its somewhere in the registry???
Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to reinstall excel. I had the same problem with Office 97 and the only solution Microsoft gave was to reinstall.

So, my boss walks up behind me as I'm reading your reply and he informs that it can be done (VERY CAREFULLY) in the registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Co mmon\UserInfo
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Co mmon\UserInfo
Its in binary code, but you can replace the letters and it will automatically replace with the correct binary number.
So it looks like we both learned something today. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/redface.gif) Have a good one.
