I'm attempting to downgrade a Compaq Presario C770US laptop, it's up and running and now after some trouble (since hp/compaq doesn't offer xp drivers) i have found all xp drivers and yet the sound isn't working, device manager is showing all is well and i can change the volume level and it's showing the proper sound card, but no sound. before i had it installed i could get some error beeps so the speakers work, however i can't get windows to do any sound, i've spent 2 days now trying different things, uninstalling and reinstalling. Even a system restore to start from scratch. Nothing has worked i'm back to where i left off, with everything installed but still no sound. Any ideas?
