hi I would firstly like to say that the guy who made this site: Charles M. Kozierok. seems to have done an excellent job as do all the moderators.
my main point is that he mentioned updating the site?
and the version used on the homepage is from 2001 soo has something happened to him? has he lost enthusiasm?
or is he currently working on updates or does anyone know why it hasnt been updated for soo long?????

You are talking about the actual PCGuide right? That most likely will not get updated.

Much of the information on there is still valid though. The fundamentals of computers have not really changed. No you won't find any info about quad cores or Intel's QPI or anything like that. But the basic principles of computing are still the same.

If we ever fully adopt EFI and GPT then we can say the basics have actually changed.

has he lost enthusiasm?
As I understand it he does frequent another one of his forums that is about politics and such. Since he started that forum we rarely see him around here.

There are some behind-the-scenes plans to maybe do some upgrading of the forums but nothing is imminent and if there are changes they will not take place till much later this year.

and the version used on the homepage is from 2001I cant find the reference to this and the last upgrade of vbulletin was in fact long after that date.

Not likely. There was some talk several years ago about some of us writing some new content for the guide, but it never came to be.

As I understand it he does frequent another one of his forums that is about politics and such. Since he started that forum we rarely see him around here
I went right after I posted this and seen that those forums are actually closed now. Then the next day I actually seen ixl browsing these forums for a few minutes.

Who knows, maybe there is hope after all. You never know...

He's around...on occasion...lurking in the background.
