I have two Maxtor drives on a Promise ATA/100 Controller, the old one as Master on the primary and the new one as slave on the secondary. I'd like to set up a dual boot, with the old drive as primary (for now).
Should I set up the new drive as master on the secondary channel?
Also, is there any way to switch between the two, short of pulling the cable on one of them? Can files be transferred between the two in dual boot?

I'd set up the new one as Master Primary and the old as slave secondary. As for transferring files, no problem. I have dual boot win98SE/win2k and it sure beats downloading files for win2k when i already have them in win98SE. You'll see both HD and OS in windows explorer http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif
