I have just bought a new machine, & am running w98. I cannot get my digital CDs to play. Whereas they did on my old machine with w95.
The CDs are in wav format.
Any ideas?

Using which program to play them -- Media Player, or ??
Are these 'burned' CD's, made on a CD-R/RW?
You may have to change the file association. See Windows Help.

Does the sound work on your pc otherwise? If not, could be a speaker/hookup or sound card problem. Wavs should play in any of the cd software, try going to the program itself & select "file, play (or equivalent) then select the d drive. Should pull up a list of files. Even if you recorded them as wavs, it will probably list them as cdas. Alternately, there may be an option like "play audio cd", which should play the entire disk in order. May also go out to CDDB to get a list of tune titles, depending on your internet connection status/type/etc. If nothing else works, a good basic player to try fresh is Winamp, downloadable at free at http://www.winamp.com/
