Help my laptop keeps restarting-merged

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FE28H Windows XP. Recently it has started resetting itself for some reason. I can turn it on and it will start loading and then within 5 minutes it resets itself. At first I thought it was a virus so used Norton Ghost to take the C drive back to how it was a few years ago. This hasn't helped and it is still resetting itself. The more it resets itself the shorter the time between each restart. I have tried loading it in a diagnostic mode so only basic functions start up but this hasn't helped.

I have run out of ideas so any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a heat related issue, basically it needs to have the cooling system cleaned. It is a common problem with notebook PCs, and particularly common on Sony.

I ve cleaned it out but still hav the same problem just slightly delayed. Is there a way to keep the fan on full?
