I'm not sure that this falls under this category, as I'm not exactly sure what the problem is...
I recently reformatted my Toshiba Satellite M115 laptop, and put Windows XP v2002 professional on it. After the reformat I connected it to my internet via a working ethernet cable. It isn't a hardware issue as far as my ethernet, router, and modem are concerned cause I was testing it on the same network and cable that I'm accessing this website from right now.
When I connected it originally it registered the connection, but was showing no incoming or outgoing packets, ie no internet... I went to try and add a port to open thinking that may have been the problem, but then the connection disappeared from my network connections all together and now won't register any connections.
I'm thinking it could be the drivers???
Or possibly the fact that the version of windows pro I put on it is already in use on several other computers I own, and the connection's being blocked by Microsoft...
But I dunno I'm practically clueless, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
D
