have installed doss onto hard drive how do i get windows to run? all i get is C:\ Ps i am a compleat novice so plese not to much tec talk

Welcome bigtell,
I think we need more info here. You installed DOS to where on hard drive? Is it in a specific folder or just on C:? Have you installed any version of windows? DOS alone is not windows. If you have windows installed, when you get to the C:> you type win then hit enter.
If you need more help, please try to give more info on your system and software installed.

Hi bigtell you said Ive installed doss onto hard drive how do i get windows to run? have you only installed dos yes/no if yes you need to install windows to run windows. Hardrives normally come blank and you have to firstly install an operating system its a bit like having a VCR if you don't put a tape in the slot the vcr does nothing.
you said you are a novice does this mean you haven't installed operating systems before and is this the first time you have had a computer,usually when you buy a computer these's day they have 95/98/2000 on them I am confused to why you would be wanting to put dos on in the first place please give me and the other guys a bit more info and we will see if we can get you on the right track as we all had to start somewhere.
