Thanks in advance for all of your inputs! My problem is that my win2k takes almost 2 minutes (1'47"-1'50") to load up after BIOS! Is there any tweak that can somehow make my system load faster? BTW, my system is dual boot and has been partitioned by Partition Magic 6.0. Is this also a factor? Thanks again!!!

What are your system specs? I have a 1 Ghz Athlon w/512 mb ram and a 7200 rpm ata66 hd and it probably takes almost 2 minutes to boot (although I haven't timed it) Win 2000 is not the fastest starting system and if you're running 128mb or less of ram, that's hurting you...
If you're on a network and have an assigned IP you can disable dhcp, that will help as will disabling any unused ide channels and cutting down the # of programs that start when the system boots...try

and

for some ideas, but your boot time doesn't seem unreasonable, although without knowing what kind of system you're running it's tough to say...

Thanks for the links, i will check'em out! My systems is a labtop PIII 500 with 128mb, with ata33 @5400, i think, but the thing is that my other desktop machines, with pII 400, 32mb @ 66mhz bus, and 4gig hd boot up twice as fast as my labtop! but after win 2k loads, my laptop outperforms my desktops by a large margin! so i thought it might be a something in the system configuration that you can tweak!
regardless, thanks for the links!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
