I have created a small problem for myself. Hope someone can help. I thought it a good idea to partition, And format the hard drive on an old Hp
200Mz computer, That was by the way working perfectly fine. I created a boot disk (Windows 95). Everything went great until it was time to reinstall the OS. I looked high and low for that 95 cd but could not find it, So I thought I would just use my 98 cd, but that would not work. I guess my Question After all this is can I install Windows 98 on a computer that is booted from a windows 95 floppy disk, Or do I have to find that 95 cd reinstall that then upgrade to 98.
Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated

Why not use the Windows 98 bootdisk...its much better.. Infact what computer are you using now? You can make a boot disk from that. Win 98 I believe has the CDrom auto detect feature which will allow you to switch to your CDrom drive ie D: then you just type setup and that will get you started. If Windows 95 bootup disk has the boot to command prompt with CDrom support option, then use that, type D: then type dir and make sure thats the cdrom drive (don't know how many drives/partitions you got going.) then type setup and win98 setup will start.

oh...read your post wrong...obviously your using a computer of some type..probably win 98 right if so its your lucky day...just click start-> settings -> control panel then couble click add/remove programs then click startup disk tab and then create startup disk button. That will give you a startup disk that will allow you to install win98 on the other computer using the above directions.
If the Win98 disk you have is the "upgrade" version and not the full version you'll still need that 95 disk. If for nothing else to show Windows that you indeed are a licensed user, unless you have the license and product ID numbers written down...

Well more problems. I do not have the full version of win 98. I have win 98 se updates. I also have a problem where I boot up with the floppy (win 95) I get to the A:/ . I than type in D:\setup.exe with the 98 se disk in the d drive, And I get a message that says "Invalid drive specification"
I know the CD is drive d, and I know I am typing the commands properly.
Oh my god I should have just left it all alone.
The 98 Updates is just that; the disk to update 98 v1 to 98se.
The 95 bootdisk does not have cdrom support...if you can't make a 98 bootdisk go to Bootdisk (http://www.bootdisk.com/) and download one.
And find your 95 disk you are going to need it.
