Built this whole new system from scratch (being the totally computer illiterate that I am).......Had windows 2000 installed and running beautifully... All hardware running smooth,,,except this damn HP Printer.... ran into problems with the install,,,,then ,,,next thing I know,,rebooted and whole system was screwed.... may have installed wrong drivers...I really don't know what happened....So,,,,This is what I would like to do......

I want to basically start from scratch again....Clean Hard disk....No OS.... There were some things that I would like to do different,,,and would like to just start over.....How would I accomplish this???

Thanks for all the former answers...you guys have helped me alot!

Use a 98 or ME boot disk (ensure BIOS is set to boot 1st from A:

BACKUP DATA FIRST (what ever you want to keep as you will wipe everything off your PC)

Once started at A: type FDISK

This will allow you to remove partitions and create more, (if more info required for this then put a post on)

Restart computer

Type at A: Format C: (or what ever your drive letters are depending what you did in the FDISK)

Change A: to drive letter of you CD-ROM

Ensure O/S disk is in

type setup (at prompt)

follow instructions.

Hope this helps, if more detail required then just ask.

If you are going to install 2000 again, you can boot from the 2000 CD and delete and install your partitions, format, then install OS
