Hi Neopang,

There should be an option in BIOS to change the rate. I can't remember the subcategory to look for, but it most likely will have AGP in the heading.

When your computer first boots up, look for a message that says something like, "Hit del to enter setup" or "Hit F2 to enter setup". Peruse the categories listed and look for something with AGP in it. Within that category, there should be a line item for the X rate. Use the PgUp or PgDn keys to toggle between the available choices.

Then, choose "Save Settings and Exit". That should do it.

If you are still unsure how to proceed, post back and we can help further.

Cheers,

My BIOS is the Award Bios.
My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-BXC Intel 440BX AGPset.
I tried to find the category you mention but I could not get anything related to the AGP rate.
Please help again....

neopang,

Where did you get the info that youre only running at 1x?
That BX board should support 2x, but its not going to be in the BIOS, its going to be an auto detect, and you may need to upgrade the BIOS to get it to work, depending on how old your board/bios is..........

What I meant by what I said is hopefully less confusing then the contemplation of the question that led to the confusion in the 1st place.......
