A while back I purchased two sticks of RAM for my son's computer and now he has a new machine so I'm selling the RAM. A potential buyer wants to know if it's low or high density. I don't know the difference, and there's nothing in the description (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820236112&cm_re=PNY_Optima_1GB_184-Pin_DDR_SDRAM_DDR_400_%28PC_3200%29-_-20-236-112-_-Product) that gives any indication either. What do I tell this potential buyer?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

For that size of memory module if it has memory chips on just one side it is high density. If on both sides it is low density.
Actually hold on. That isn't necessarily true with DDR. That was old regular SDRAM.
Look at the sticker on the chip, if it says 64x8 it is low density, if it says 128x4 it is high density.
Edit - Jeez, it's been a long time since I had to think about ram density. :o Your numbers may be different than above. If they are take the higher number and divide it by the lower number. If the sum is 4 it is high density, if 8 it is low density. I think that's how it goes.
If they happen to be Samsung chips on the module there are a set of numbers and letters on the memory chips themselves. The set to the left of the dash, the seventh number, from left to right, will either be a 4 or an 8. 4=high, 8=low.
I have an older motherboard (ASUS A7N8X) which requires low density RAM. I went to PNY and used their configurator and followed the steps for a 1 gig upgrade. The result was exactly what you have so you can rest assured it is low density.
Previous to the above I tried looking all around even at PNY site but like you I could not find anything specifically stating whether it was low or high density RAM. Hope this helps.
You can give the specs to your potential customer and have them do the same as I did at the PNY site only they should input their motherboard model to see what RAM they find as compatible.
