I have publisher 98 & office 2000 on my machine, when inserting clipart in publisher the office 2000 clipart comes up.
I have installed pub 98 on 2 other pc's but with office 97, & on these each prog uses its own clipart. I have re installed with same result.
the publisher clipart folder is there & I can access it in publisher through 'insert from file' but not 'clipart gallery'
Any ideas?

Just as a guess, since pub 98 came out after office 97, office 97 probably doesn't "know" where the clipart folder for pub 98 is...but office 2000 would have the feature designed in to look for clipart from pub 98...
As long as you can insert the art, I wouldn't worry about it, or you could just copy the art from pub 98 into the folder where office 97 looks for clipart...

You've got it the wrong way around. Publisher 98 is bringing up the Office 2000 gallery, whereas it doesn't with Office 97. However the theory is sound. but although I can access the Pub98 clipart, searching for it is a pain. & the Pub clipart is a lot better than the Office clipart.
I wonder if it is perhaps better to make up a Cd of clipart & access it through that? I'll have to work out how to do a catalogue of 'thumbs' though for viewing.

Are the clipart folders on your hard drive or are they still on the CD?
You can always just dump all your clipart into one folder and then use the options in the program you are using to set that folder as your default clip art folder...

The Office Clipart is mostly on Cd whereas the Publisher clipart is on hd.
Apparently the new (version 5) 'office' clipart REPLACES (all) older versions (isn't THAT kind of whoever wrote the software) But in fact it doesn't. it just fails to find it. So I have x mb of good clipart (v4) that I can only access by number (rather than a thumb) and a crap gallery to do it with.
I'm thinking that if I delete the 'new. supa dupa v5' it might then default to accessing the version 4 in publisher. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
