This notebook has no HD (I'm using a linux live cd as OS) & the keyboard has problems (I'm using a Gateway usb keyboard without any problem with this). The BIOS's created by Phoenix Tech LTD & it's description is R0150J6).

I would like to know if, in order to boot this notebook from the usb port with a bootable pendrive, I've to change/upgrade the BIOS or there's a tweak that can be done in the BIOS for this? How changing the BIOS in this way compares with changing another software? Can I make a backup of the original BIOS before any change is done/attempted? Where to find an appropriate version (a tried one by someone responding or known by him/her would be very good) of the BIOS?

Thanks in advance for any help!

A tweak? No. Unless the manufacturer AND the BIOS manu. involved can allow a usb boot, or are coordinating together to make it happen don't expect it to become available as a tweak-by-geek anytime soon, sorry. :(

It's just not as simple as overclocking or other 'settings'. By a l-o-n-g shot...
