I'm building a P4 1.4 GHz using Intel's D850GB motherboard. I have hooked all peripherals and power supply cables correctly, however, my monitor stays blank after initial boot. Having checked all connections, which I feel are OK, I have noticed one unusual thing.
The power switch connector cable from the front panel is a three pin connetor with the center notch being empty. The Power switch (POWER SW), however, on the motherboard requires connection with two consecutive wires next to each other.
My question is, if I want to change the power connector cable from the front panel to fit the motherboard pins, how should I go about it? What would I need to do to change it? What are the precautions I must take? What else I might be doing wrong which prevents it from initial boot?
Any suggestions, ideas, help will be greatly appreciated.
