Could someone please tell me how I can enable my processor cache in the BIOS? BIOS is Phoenix BIOS 4.06 1.02.1120. I have got into set up, but am unsure which is the right menu in setup to go to. Please be easy on a dumbo http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif.Many thanks in advance.

Well, i know that in award bios you enter into the " advanced BIOS features page " where your processor cache should already be set-most new BIOS/mobos wil automatically detect your processor speed/cache settings and your Harddrives also. Also, if i remember correctly-award and phoenix merged not to long ago, so it should be the same in your BIOS as i stated for the award version. Do you have a manual for your board? It should step you through the BIOS options. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

Thanks for that, but I have looked in the advanced menu, and it is set at 32k/128k and can't seem to alter it. I assume that means I am running at 25% of memory cache. Seems awfully low, was hoping to boost it up even a little bit. Any further suggestions?

I should have asked what kind of processor you have; sounds like you have a celeron-if thats so then you're at the maximum cache size for that procesor(128k is the l2=secondary cache and 32k is the l1=primary cache), your only option is to replace the processor with a full PII, or get another motherboard with a duron.
