Running Windows 98 SE on an AMD Athlon with an ASUS Motherboard.
I sometimes hit the power off button on my tower case by mistake. It is close to the CD release button.
Shutting the system down this way used to cause a message and ScanDisk the next time the system started. This no longer happens.
In the Configuration Utility, there is a option to disable Scandisk after a bad shutdown. I do not have this option checked.
Why does Scandiks no longer run after a bad shutdown?
I am using Boot Magic (PowerQuest) to contro a Multiple OS system. Could Boot Magic be causing the bypass of Scandisk? Unfortunately, I do not remember whether the symptom started before or after installing Boot Magic.
