eePC broke down

hey everyone,
i have a problem! i have an eePC and the screen broke when it fell on the floor. besides the screen breaking, the disk lost a few stuf. the disk is perfectly ok and working but now i want to instal windows on it. i used an external cd port (the computer doesnt have a cd port) and started to install it. it works perfectly for the part you dont have to give orders but since the screen crystals or something are completely broken i cant see a thing. so i don't know what options to click.
i do have an external screen and i wanted to instal windows by looking at the external screen and then just use the lap top as if it was a desktop computer.
now i want to know how i can instal windows using an external screen cuz clicking on "fn and F8" (the passing to the external monitor button) didn't work. the external monitor just doesn't catch the signal. when it tries to go into windows it shows the windows xp logo so its not the screen. i just want to know how to instal windows using the external monitor!
