I wanted to listen to a cd on my cd-rom/ cd player, so I put in the disc. After it was in, I tried to play it, and a window popped up and said that there was no cd in the player. So I tried to eject the disc, but the player didn't open. So I went to the menu with the cd player init and it said that my cd-rom was not connected to my computer. What do I do to get it reconnected

Thanks for replying. I didn't do anything to change anything. I just put in the disc and then the cd-rom disconnected.

The best way to troubleshoot it is to open up the computer and make sure (with the power cord disconnected from back of computer) that the cable is plugged in and the power cord is also plugged in......if it still doesnt work......may be replacement time.

If you are familiar with going inside a computer, you might check the ribbon cable connection. These CAN vibrate loose over time. If it was not fully on to begin with, it might not take long for this to happen. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

CD player should have a small pin hole on the face of it. Straighten out a paper clip or something and ease it in there. Poke and jab a little and the CD drawer will open. If everything is Hunkie inside the case as far as cables etc. plugged in then get back w/us. Luck to ya.
