I work in a hotel here in Macau and someone messed up our computer in our Bussiness center. When we open the computer a "pinwheel" will appear in the middle of the screen almost swallowing the entire screen, and there's nothing you can do even when you click inside the pinwheel itself. Our IT manager is on vacation and there's nothing anyone can do but wait for him.
Is there anything I can do about it that could help.
Thank you in advance !

what do you mean" pinwheel?" Can you be a little more specific?

Could it be a screen saver that needs a password?

Check it out for virus infection. There is a virus that leaves you with a Spiral effect on the desktop. like a pin wheel. Cannot remember the name of it.

IT manager wld not have done so because the computer is for the hotel guests usage. The pinwheel crowds the screen and when you click inside it nothing wld happen but you can still launch applications but the pinwheel is just in the way or on top of all other apllications so its useless to do anything.

Could it be an animation program from Cyber Cultures? Be warned this link (http://www.casulapowerhouse.com/cybercultures/education/animation.pdf) is a large Adobe Acrobat Reader pdf file.

What OS does the pc use? Try the three-finger salute to see what progs are running.

Restart the machine and hit F8 until you get a screen that allows you to launch the "Safe Mode" ver. of Windows........hopefully the screen will not come up......if it doesnt, post back and we'll help you get rid of it.
