Or if a extensive upgrade needs to be done, its going have to wait. What can I do in the meantime to fix this?

Thanks. :)

Go to Start>Accessories>System Tools>System Information

Look at Total Physical Memory and Available Physical Memory

I would suggest upgrading your RAM to 2 gig or as much as your motherboard will support.

Virtual memory is used when available RAM hits a certain threshold. Virtual memory uses our harddrives, and since our harddrives are much slower than RAM, our systems will begin to operate like the walking dead...

If your snapshot of the Physical Memory vs Available Physical Memory was done immediately after boot, your Available Physical Memory/RAM would easily be chewed up by opening one or two programs, or by temporary Internet files...

David is correct...get more RAM
