I'm trying to share a Compaq IJ200. I have 2 PCs one of them has WIN Mi and the other one has WIN 98. The printer is connected to one PC via parallel and the 2 PCs are connected Pear to Pear. I have no problem printing from the PC that is conected to the printer via parallel, but I'm having problem printing from the other PC which is connected to the printer via network. The funny thing is that I can print a test page from this PC and also BMP and HTML files, but not DOC and EXL files.

Sounds like a driver problem to me, since some file types are affected and not others. I've noticed a similar situation with my NEC's Win2k driver (but only if I specify the option for the extra 16MB of printer memory).

On my setup it's necessary to have the printer software loaded up on each pc

Right, my only advice would be to download and install the latest drivers from Compaq.
Have you tried connecting the printer to the other computer, just to see if the problem remains when it's "local"?

It works now. Thanks guys. It was a driver problem. I installed drivers at eah PC, parallel connection, than I changed the port setting to the one that is not connected directly to the printer.
One more time thanks for the input.
