Hi,
i bought a pc but it didnt come with a power supply cable ( mains )
but i found a old one in my house, but im not sure if i should use it as i dont know if it will damage my system? will it ? or does the PSU have a restricter or something. (sorry proberbly the biggest noob Q ever haha )

It doesn't matter what kind of power cord you're using, as long as the cord in question is not physically damaged.

Another thing to worry about is if it fits. If the cable fits (which if both the jack and the cable are standard computer cables that have been around for a very long time...) you will have no problem. THAT DOES NOT GO FOR LAPTOPS, but that's a different story then what this thread's about...

Just about every male plug that slots into a PSU looks like the pic below. The other end that plugs into the mains a/c varies from country to country
