Yes, most notebooks will have a headphones port on them. I'm not entirely sure what you meant by this comment, though:
...can you use DVD to copy and paste and import and export etc?
That depends on the optical drive in the laptop. If it is a burner, sure you can use DVD-RW's, DVD-R's and CD's but I much prefer USB devices such as SD cards and memory sticks. The sticks and cards are available in larger than even dual layer DVD disks are capable of these days and they read/write, copy/paste, import/export just fine. :)
I would dare assume that all laptops have USB these days and many have built in card readers as well.

It's a personal choice but laptops have got more and more popular as their prices have come down and down. There is also a wide range of either type so direct comparisons are not quite fair. Portability and small office space are obvious big pros for laptops and some of the cons are that they are difficult and costly to repair and that battery life can be limited; (paying extra for long-life batteries can be worth it). Laptops are much more often lost or stolen than desktops of course a;nd are generally more susceptible to physical damage.
List your requirements and we should be better able to advise.

If you are going to bye then laptop is more preferable choice compare to a desktop PC. Laptop has portability during travel and everywhere. Laptops are very cool.

I bought a I5 desktop last summer because laptops are not as powerful and you can,t upgrade to any degree and the parts on a laptop are too expensive!

Laptops are fine and good and obviously easily portable but Desktops are much more flexible to work-on, upgrade or add bits and pieces to. The prices of Laptops used to be exhorbitant in comparison but nowadays they are pretty similar with the price really reflecting the specific hardware and software purchased rather than the fact that one is a Laptop and the other a Desktop. I use both for different reasons but on the portability side am moving more and more away from Laptop/Netbook to a Tablet. What suits one person of course may well not suit another.

Laptops are fine I have three of them but they are very delicate (don't drop them). I would not give up my desktop for anything!
