Hello all i have a Gateway P7805u laptop intel penryn p8400 2.26ghz 4gb ddr2 nvidia geforce 9800m gts with 1gb dedicated vram and two western digital 5400rpm 640gb hd's my problem is that when running world of warcraft on high setting i run an average of 80-100fps at a latency of about 80-200ms im having issues though as to where im having random lag my latency stays the same and it does not matter wht settings im on happens on everything from low to ultra i can sometimes play for 4-5 hours with no problem sometimes only a few mins. and i will get randome lage of 4-12fps with no latency change that will last anywhere from a few secs to a few mins sometimes it will repeat and other times it will not also it does not matter if i have the computer connected to the internet wired or wirelessly or if i use a high or low bandwidth connection as ive had this problem at several friends houses while using different isps and connection speeds. i have ended all tasks that i can and closed all background programs and updated all drivers ive also done a complete format and reinstall of windows 7 64bit and i am just wondering if theres anyone out there who might be able to help me with this problem as im starting to think it may be some kind of conflicting hardware in this laptop which is completely stock except the two harddrives but i also had the same problem with the computer when it was new and had windows vista 64 and one western digital 7200rpm 320gb drive so im completely lost as to what may be causing this thanks in advance for any help.

ok so i got this problem kinda halfway solved ive noticed that when this lag occurs my cpu usage skyrockets to between 80 and 100 percent but i cannot figure out why and im starting to wonder if maybe downgrading back to xp might help me.

oh noes! not the WOW!

so u see the CPU spike? did u see what process did it? If u can find the process u will know what eats it and causes the problem.

maybe its AV blocking the network packets? could be something liek wireless packet loss or router can't handle the constant load. like is it hot? so many problems it could be and not just ur laptop! but still u could be infecetd. idk. maybe even ur WOW server is far away and not goog for performance.

oh maybe it's the internet in ur area? like r all ur friends close to gether? maybe ISP router is teh same and it has problems? or ur friends have all diferent ISP's?

or maybe ur laptop is geting too hot? the vid card is too hot and slowing down to creat less heat? idk.
