Another ? on mp3

I want to change an m3u file to an mp3, is that possible? My Musicmatch Jukebox turns the music I load into m3u files in sead of mp3, why is that?
As far as I can tell the settings are on recording quality, CD quality mp3 (128 kbps). So what say ye?

"a m3u file isn't actually a music file. if you open it up in word pad you will see that it only contains a link either to a temporary directory on your hard disk or an internet URL. "
