Hi, I just bought a IBM 700, and I don't know how to
use the keyboard without mouse. It has a two bar and one bar
underneath clicker on the keyboard, but I can't seem to close programs
etc. any suggestions?
thanks, vonmoose

Your Alt+F4 key combo. will close the program that is active (if any is open) until you reach the shutdown program. Then, use the arrow keys to
make a selection. Also those two little bars you refered to simulate
the mouse left & right buttons. you should have away to control your
mouse, either by a little stem in the middle of your keyboard or touch
pad at the bottom of key board. Or maybe the two bars have something to
do with the mouse. Their are alot more key combos. Some one will have
more info. for you soon.

What's up with that?

[Alt] + [Esc] will open the start menu, cursor keys (arrows) navigate the start menu, [Enter] activates the highlighted menu option.
[Alt] + [Tab] switches between windows
[F5] refreshes webpages
works as the Back button in IE
[Page Up] & [Page Down] scroll webpages and documents one screen at a time, cursor keys one line at a time. [Home] goes to the top of a webpage (not documents) [End] to the bottom.
[Esc] closes menus
[Alt] activates the menu bar, the underlined letter in the menu bar opens that menu. ([Alt][F] opens the File menu, etc)
The cursor right arrow [>] opens submenus, cursor left [<] goes back to the main menu.
[Insert] and [Delete] do exactly that, insert or delete text in documents, web forms (such as this editing window) etc.
[Tab] switches between form fields. (user name & password to post a message, for instance.)
That's about all I can think of for now...try the rubber buttons you referred to, open Paint or Solitaire and play around, sounds like they are for the mouse.

I'll go ahead and point out the obvious...you can use an external mouse with the laptop as well...I find it's sometimes a lot easier than trying to use a touchpad or those irritating pointer sticks anyway...

Good point, goonz, and I must correct myself. The very first key combo is wrong, it's [Ctrl] + [Esc] that opens the Start Menu, not [Alt] + [Esc].
