After failing to install my zip drive, couldn't assign a drive letter, no icons in My Computer etc. I was checking to see if anything was left from Iomega in the system. I went to the registry after reading about how to manually remove programs from the add/remove programs list. I saw files for Iomega, such as:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Iomega Corp\Install\System]
DCOM98=2
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Iomega Corp\Install\Drivers]
PPA3=false
D395=false
epclik=false
ZipZoom=false
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Iomega Corp\IomagaWare\CurrentVersion]
Language=enu
Version=2.8.0.2
Path=C:\Program Files\Iomega
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Iomega Corp\IomegaWare\CurrentVersion\Shell\ShortcutPrefs ]
Do Refresh=00
Drive Types=ff,80,00,00
Shell Folder Types=00,00,00,04,00,00,00,00
I wanted to make sure that there was nothing left of Iomega in the system.
Could I delete things that I find like this in the registry, or would it harm other things?
Thank You for your replies
