So I have a summer wedding to attend. I know the bride and groom because they are my gf's flatmates. I bought this blazer (http://www.giftmadesimple.com/product/personalized-gift-ideas/2385/?rid=28904764)a while back
because it was on sale and I loved it but never really had anything to wear it to. Do you think that would be ok to wear as a guest? I know the groom is wearing a simple suit, I don't want to be overdressed. I love the suit, I just don't want to be the only person that doesn't wear a simple top or something

Your first concern is that you should avoid out-dressing the groom or the groomsmen. If the groom is wearing a simple suit, then the blazer should be fine. You will want to wear a dress shirt and a good pair of slacks and also a nice pair of shoes. Out of respect for the occasion, you should wear your nicest stuff. You may not necessarily need a tie, but at least bring one just in case. And remember, shoes match the belt and socks match the pants.

Standards are not as rigid these days as they once were. I think that blazer is entirely suitable for a wedding. I agree with yawningdog that it would be a good idea to take a tie with you in the unlikely event that you're the only gentleman there not wearing one.

Yes agreed about the making sure you do not outdress the groom and even the groomsmen. You want to look elegant and nice but without taking in too much focus. If you find that the blazer makes everyone turn their heads then maybe you should go with something a little more low key. After all, it isn't your day :)
