My Dell had a virus and required that I do a complete reformat/restore.
After it was completed the laptop would not boot up.
I get the following message:
Loading PBR for descriptor 1...done.
Loading DRMK V8.00...
and it will go no further.
This is the first time this has ever happened to me.
Desperately seeking help

Welcome to the PC Guide! :)
If you restored your latop from the restore CD that came with it, it should now be back at factory default settings.
The PBR and DRMK messages are a new one to me - these should not normally come up as far as I am aware.
What system is this? XP? Windoze 7?
Did the restore complete OK without any error messages?

Loading DRMK Version 8.00 Error (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/t/19263343.aspx#19446570)
I'm no expert, and this is pretty meaningless to me, but the solution given may take you forward.
