Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to add the "Support Information" button and an OEM logo in the System Properties window in Windows 9x? You know when you right click My Computer, choose Properties. I know you can add a "Support Information" button and an OEM logo in that window to personnalise the systems you sell. But I don't remember how to do it. I remember there's a special small text file to create(kind of like a script file with keys and values) where you specify the path to the logo (which is a bitmap file with extension .sys) and information about your company, but I can't remember the name of the file and the structure of the keys. If anyone knows what I am talking about, please help me. I'd really apreciate it.

You'll need the following; oemlogo.bmp oemreg.bin oemreg.dll oeminfo.ini

Find a system that already has one on it, ( look in the windows/system folder) that's the easiest way to do it-then just copy those files to the new system and edit them. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I have a program I use called oem information from PcForrest (http://www.pcforrest.freeserve.co.uk/windows.htm) works great and easy to use. Dont know if it is still available from them the link for it on their page goes nowhere now.

However I found this page (http://worldowindows.com/sysprop.html) which gives you an example of they method iisbob suggested.

PS: thanks iisbob didn't know you could do it that way!

Xteq Systems (http://www.xteq.com/) Xsetup has it too...fairly easy to use in it and there is a record mode so you can do it once and make a reg file and put it, the logos and what ever else you need on a floppy and brand as many systems as you want...
