I get the message about 1 of 3 links that I open in a new tab. Refresh almost always loads the page.
Win XP Pro and latest FF - default configuration.

I need to make a new post that says IE is better than FF.
FF is not working for me!
It fails to load a page like 20% of the time. I did some research and disabled the proxy business...what, did I strike a soft spot with the gurus?
Also, it takes a long time to find a site. Every time I start the thing, it says something like, "looking for www.google.com" for like 15 seconds in the status bar!
Plus, when I'm looking at youtube CHANNELs, on the video list, it cuts off the bottom of the vertical scrollbar, so I can't see all of the videos!
other than that, FF seems to work fine.

I am not experiencing anything like that with Chrome or Firefox or Opera or IE.
I had a coworker who had similar issues with Firefox, I had him remove and download a second time and he now prefers FF to anything out there.
Does Firefox use memory? Yes
Can there be issues with JavaRE that can cause slow pages? yes

"firefox can't find the server at..."
Seems to be a common problem.
I agree with you on the other points, I'm just not sure how to use the information.
I checked my JavaRE and updated from 6.23 to 6.24 (it had been a few days).
Maybe I'll try chrome.

Make certain old JavaRE versions and old Java consoles are removed as well.

I don't think it is a java problem anyway, but if it were, is that like a complete uninstall and then reinstall of, JRE? Wipe out FF and start over?
Also, the error log from fresh boot to this place (PCGDF) is quite interesting...
Security Error: Content at http://googleleads.g.doubleclick.net/ may not load data from http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread...

Not really, Firefox Tools>Addons>Plugins then look for multiples of Java Console, can uninstall multiple instances from within Firefox.

Java installer should make it a point to uninstall outdated versions of it in Firefox automatically.

FYI, the last three updates did not remove the old Java RE for several PCs I have run across.

It's a suggestion, sorry. I should've made that clearer.

Cuc Tu,
It may be worthwhile having a look at this mozillaZine article (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites) and working through the various troubleshooting options to see if you can narrow it down.
