A current PC has Win95 on C: and D: as FAT32. Win2K is on E: (NTFS). All works fine except that space has run out.
Is there anything in particular I should look out for if I add a 2nd HDD and move some (non-system) files from E: onto it? I would make the 2nd disk a slave on channel 1 and edit boot.ini accordingly.
Thanks.
Tony.

Can't see where you would have any problems with that. Only thing I would concider is, what file system you use (fat32, ntfs) but it sounds like you know your way around those so, Go For It http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
You might make sure you get a large enough slave to make room for both.

Thanks bassman.
Well the current boot.ini is

[boot loader]
timeout=15
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows 95"

so do I need to edit it at all?

You shouldn't need to edit anything. The slave is for more space and is not accessed for your boot files. Partitioning and formatting will set the paramiters for how it is used. All of your bootup is handled by the boot sector on C: http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
