Intel announced they have a big improvement coming via the transistors in their new chips in 22 nm.

The Tri-gate design is indeed very important. The fact that performance increases at lower voltages is just what we needed. With less doping at that. Also we have been dealing with hitting a brick wall with current transistor manufacturing materials. This is will increase its lifespan as well as give us more time to continue to develop other materials. :cool:
