Looking to replace an AC adapter to a laptop and have a (hopefully) quick question to ask.
The current adapter is rated 15V 5A. I was reading a while back that I could use a higher rated Amperage unit provided the voltage was the same ie the laptop would only draw the power it requires.
However, after much searching I found post from users who said that using a higher amperage unit was / could be detrimental to battery life eg shortening it.
Was just wondering if anyone could shed any further light on this.
For total clarity the sticker on the base of the laptop itself states 15V 5A.
Many thanks for any info provided.
Cheers
