hi, another trouble for everybody !

I have a PC configured as follows :
- Mother board ASUS CUV4X
- Processor PENTIUM III 1 GHz
- Windows 98 S.E.
- RAM ?

The RAM question mark is for the following reason :

until i install up to 1 G of RAM there is no problem, the boot is regular and everything is OK.
If i add another 256 M of RAM ( here is the trouble ) i can see the boot, the test of the memory is regular, but as soon the firs windows image ( window ) appears on the screen the system reset itself and everything restart.
I left the system restart in this way for twenty times but no way to start windows.
I have also swapped the ram thinking in a failure of the RAM, but if i put more than 1 G of RAM there is no way to start windows.
Do you know if there is any limit in the RAM size on the windows operating system ?

Increasing RAM above 512 MB can create serious memory handling problems. If you have more than 512 MB of RAM, a VCache maximum of 524,288 KB (or a little less) is recommended.

A good article on memory management and how to fix it... http://www.aumha.org/a/memmgmt.htm
