1. Each time your PC is powered-off improperly whilst a Windows OS is running...
It is ESSENTIAL that you make sure the partition_file_system is scanned and fixed...
Either whilst the Windows OS is dormant...
By something other than that Windows OS.
Or...
Automatically by that same Windows OS as it loads.
[It may or may not succeed, depending on how bad the damage]

2.
(a) e.g. I normally use some version of...
"Puppy_Linux->GParted->choose the drive holding the Windows partition->right-click the partition->click "check" to scan & fix".
This can "check" various partition_file_systems.

(b) In the past...
When all my partitions were FAT32...
I used...
"Emergency_Boot_CD->MS_Scandisk".

(c) You might choose to use the Recovery Console->checkdsk (http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/131922-how-to-run-checkdisk-from-recovery-console-windows-xp/) command.

3. As insurance...
(a) You aught to make image backups of the contents of your Windows partition...
At various sensible points in time...
When the system seems to be working well...
And "as you like it".

(b) If 1 & 2 above do not produce a fix...
You should then restore your latest good image backup.

Try to boot into safe mode with networking support and see if the problem recurs.
