I'm a bit confused here. I want 2 Win2K Pro PCs (whoever is logged onto the domain via them) to run a shutdown script. How do I set this up on the Win2K Server machine under Group Policy?
Thanks.
Tony.

"Selected Computer Policy" > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Scripts (Startup/Shutdown) > "Double Click on" Shutdown

OK, looking at Console1 (or whatever you've named your MMC): Click on "Console" > "Add/Remove Snap-in" > "Add..." > Highlight "Group Policy", click "Add" > Input the Group Policy Object ("Browse" for the name of a remote computer)
The computer policy should now be in your Console Root.

OK, Kenja. I think I've got it!
Thank you.

You're welcome. I like the MMC (Microsoft Management Console), but they could have made it "smoother".

I spoke too soon!
I have the following batch file in c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine\scripts\sh utdown on the client machine:
xcopy e:\logs\*.xls Y:\*.xls
Simple, for now.
When I run the batch file manually, the relevant files are copied correctly (Y: is automatically established at logon) but the batch does not run at shutdown, even though it is there under admin$\system32\grouppolicy\machine\scripts\shutdo wn for the relevant client in computer configuration | windows settings | scripts | shutdown on the server.
Why would it not run? Is there something I need to activate on the server or the client first?
Thanks.
Tony.
