View Full Version : Multiple O/S Booting.....

Okay, I'm looking to try and get hold of a Iomega Jazz drive for my PC, with the idea of installing different O/S on different disks, for training and learning how to use them.

I really need to know if, once installed, the Jazz drive can be made bootable in setup (If this was posible I know I'd have to setup the PC on each of the O/S disks, i.e. labeling the HD CD-ROM etc).

It does actually sound likealot of hard work, but wouldnt this be easier and cheaper than getting a shed load of removeable hard drives or a different PC for each O/S.

I have never heard of anyone trying that. It should work with Linux and NT/2000 and mabey OS2. It won't work for Win9x.
Your "C" drive will still be the primary partition and the other OSes I mentioned would then startup using the system files found on the Jazz drive. It will all depend on if the BIOS "sees" the Jazz drive. THe only thing you gain by doing it this way ( that I can think of) is not having to repartition your current hard drive.

OK the idea is that because itsnot my own computer, I dont want to mess with the hard drive, but, in order to learn other O/S's I need to either partition the hard drive or get a removable drive to partion (With a second one to transfer the current hard drive data to it. To do it this way is cheaper, easier and doesnt effect the existing hard drive.

Thanks a lot mate.
