Hi,
I'm using an intel core 2 duo system with intel's DG41WV mobo. The OS is Windows XP Pro (SP3) on a 1TB HDD(SATA) and ram is 2GB DDR3.
I have a blank 40GB IDE HDD. I tried to install Debian 6 on it connecting it via an external usb connector. (My mobo doesn't have an ide connector).
Until partitioning was over everything went fine.(I did it booting from the Debian dvd). But then while installing the base system it gave the following error message: 'debootstrap warnning: failure trying to run: chroot/target/sbin/ldconfig'. I tried over and over again, but I couldn't get past the error. Then I tried another flavor of Debian with the same method. It also stopped at the same error message.
Please anyone help me solve this.

Regards.

Vinod.
