Yoda: Twilight Zone music...I clicked on the ME Help (bottom link) in your post. The page was loading, and I was thinking that it looked like an interesting site and maybe I should add it to Favorites..and I swear the Favorites dialog box popped up by itself! I did not click on Favorites. Now I am too spooked to actually add it to Favorites...I am remembering your exorcist comment. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
kfh This is off the same link Yoda posted. Windows Help Net (http://www.windows-help.net/windowsMe/system-restore-pf.htm). At the bottom of the page is a whole bunch of Microsoft links for troubleshooting System Restore.

Downloaded a patch from one of the links.
Another satisfied novice what great place to come for help and it's free.
it may be trivial problem to you guys, but all problems are big for a beginer.
It was a bit early for you guys this morning but we are about 6 hours in front of you over here in england. hope you enjoyed your coffee.
many thanks,

Whoa Yoda,
Am I ever glad I stopped by to have a look-see! My post where I had the Recycle Bin opening in the IE URL box required me to try System Restore. It would not work....now I know why!!
Thanks for the link to the patch...I'm suprised that Microsoft update didn't catch the hole and fill it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

No, kfh, there are no trivial puter problems if they're yours. Having "been there, freaked out, done that" many times myself, I have no problem with empathy. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
