Hi everybody! I would like to know how to access the on-board chip of th bios eeprom. If anyone could help me...

Is there a specific address where you can easily read and write things to it? Maybe it's located at the end of an IO port too...
probably gonna code it in asm but dont't have documentation...

Maybe there are some utilities that allow you to backup/restore this piece of code automatically, but I don't know if they work on every motherboard...
Please someone help me!

You need specific software and equipment in order to access the BIOS chip. We're not talking about flashing your BIOS here, i mean to actually reprogram or restore a dead chip their are a set of specific tools.

I've only met one local tech who had the equipment on hand, it's pretty expensive set-up, and you won't have many reasons to use it. He let me use it to repair a BIOS chip that had been flashed wrong.

Try Bioskit (http://www.arlabs.com/bioskit.htm) , they sell a kit for around $300 US.

By the way, you're not trying to bypass the BIOS on an N64 or Playstation are you? There are easier ways to get them to recognize CDR copied games and foriegn game discs.

In fact, I don't want to re-program my bios chip with external hardware.
I just wanna read-write in the eeprom from a program launched on my own computer with the chip on it!
The thing you do when you are flashing your Bios...

You can read and save your bios programing using the flash program for your chipset.
Then Edit the saved bios file and flash it with a new saved copy.

To learn How to edit the bios file takes a lot more than most people here will be able to provide you with,
Aside from pointing you in the direction of the edit software.
Yes it can be done. But the how is beyond me at least

The Only place I know of that has much of what you will need is JDR Micro
