Programs work fine, windows boots fine, but when I load up a video player, an internet page that uses Shockwave Flash, or even starting iTunes and trying to play music from that, it causes that program to freeze, and eventually crash.

I've tried running about a thousand different scans, registry cleaners, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-whatever I could think of. I'm pretty tech-savvy, but this has me stumped.

Mm, I also just realized that it's pretty much any program that makes use of the speaker system. Video games load up fine, and play fine, but things like Ventrilo or Mumble (VOIP chat clients) refuse to function. Likewise, Skype, Gmail, and Facebook fail to load their video chat, but that all sounds like it could stem from a single issue.

If anyone has any ideas or theories, please lemme know.

Uhh... In case anyone was wondering, it was corrupted audio drivers. I simply uninstalled them, then restarted the computer. It automatically looked up the drivers on boot and reinstalled them.
