User CP Problem

I just joined this forum today and I'm looking forward to contributing as much as I can. However I am coming across an issue in the User CP page. Anytime I try to edit my profile, options or avatar I get this message:
onlynillawafers, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.



I've already activated my account via the automated email. Hopefully it's just the fact that my account is still fresh off the presses and I just need to wait a day or so. Thanks for your help ahead of time.

I think there's a certain # of posts you have to make until you can change your avatar. Not sure what the # is, as I don't remember!
