I'm down to my last PC trying to accumulate all my files onto an external USB drive.

The drive enclosure is named "ULTR" and interfaces with SATA drives. It works fine on XP machines, but does not work on Win98, even after installing its Win98 driver and successful install. The USB icon shows in the tray, but I don't see the drive in Explorer. I think there might be a step I'm missing?

I can't get a P2P network setup either with a crossover, but I just realized yellow ? in device manager...so I'll work on that.

Well, I plugged in a USB network adapter and get internet, so I'm transferring files through the network using a 2nd pc.

Would still like to get the usb drive to work....

Most likely NTFS. Try converting your drive to FAT32 if you can. Or do a google on NTFS 98

Oh, these details...

Now I think I'd rather fix my ethernet card. I just realized that USB 1.1 is not that fast anyway...

Must be why the USB WiFi adapter is limited to 11Mbps (or it was the driver?).

But the NIC is 10/100 :D Data will just fly off them drives...
