View Full Version : File Types

When I click on My Computer\View\Folder Options\File Types, it shows some of the file types more than once. As an example, it shows "Adobe Acrobat Forms Documents" twice. There are a couple of others where it lists them more than once. I don't think I need more than one instance of each file type, do I? I'm thinking of removing all of the extra ones where there are more than one. Does anyone think that I'll be making a mistake?
Thanks

Before you remove any of these files associations .
Check the Extensions of these duplicates .
My Photo editor is listed in my system a number of time.
Each one is for a different file type (TIFF, JPG JEPG)
All three are graphics files. But associated with the same program

Another good example is Adobe Acrobat Reader. (RMF, PGF, FDF, XFDF)
All these extensions work with this program .
Removing some will require you to tell windows what program to use each time you try to open it

You're right, Rick. They do have different extensions! I never noticed that before. I think I'll leave well enough alone. Thanks--have a good day.
